Saying Good Bye to the Old-Channel

Saying Good Bye to the Channel

I was going to post "So long, and thanks for all the fish", which was the end/beginning of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... but someone posted that on CNV.

So I'll  post this parody Star Trek song I wrote a few years ago.

The folks at The Final Frontier like to have some fun. https://disqus.com/home/channel/thefinalfrontier/discussion/channel-thefinalfrontier/original_star_trek_theme_had_lyrics/
They started in on rewriting the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" to include a Star Trek theme. I figure they can use some help from the Poetry Park channel. <spoiler>MalcriadoRJ • 20 hours ago

Edit: Here's the integration attempt.

 Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in anomaly
No escape from reality
Open your eyes Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a star boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go Little high, little low
Anyway the stars blow, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a phasor to his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
 Mama, trek had just begun
But now I've gotta watch it all again

Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time

Goodbye everybody

 I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth

Starfleet, ooo (anyway the stars blow)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a craft
shuttlecraft, shuttlecraft will you ride the damned lightning
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo, Gallileo, Gallileo, Gallileo's good to go - Come on let's go

But I'm just a star boy and no Klingon loves me
He's just a star boy from an earth family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go will you let me go
He's Dead Jim! No! They will not let you go - let him go
Heghpu' Jim! We will not let you go - let him go
He's Dead Jim! Klingons cannot let you go let me go
Will not let you go let me go (never)
Never let you go let me go
Never let me go ooo No, no, no, no, no, no, no

Oh Beam me Scotty, beam me Scotty, beam me Scotty let me go
The Enterprise has a shuttle put aside for me
For me For me

So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye
So you think you can try me and leave me to die
Oh qab ghu can't do this to me Qlp qoH
Just gotta get out just teleport right outta here

Oh yeah, ooh yeah
Weapon set to anti-matter
Anyone can see
The nothing I left in tatters, nothing really matters, you see

Anyway, the stars know

Original lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody by rock group Queen:

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro - magnifico

But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go will you let me go
Bismillah! No we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go let me go
Will not let you go let me go (never)
Never let you go let me go
Never let me go ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
For me

So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby can't do this to me baby

Original Star Trek Theme had LYRICS!!!

Check it out: Star trek TOS theme performed by epic Tenacious D !

Lyrics:
Beyond
The rim of the star-light
My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me.

So I hit "Subscribe Now".   NO response.

Down below, sometimes, is a little line that says "waiting for checkout.stripe.com" and it never comes up.

Yes, I've tried rebooting, including a hard power reboot.

I'll keep y'all posted, but this looks just a little too cozy , considering what we've all been through.

We've got 2 days to solve this.

When I go to Stripe.com to try and resolve it from their end, the website is so incredibly slow that eventually it just times out.
Update:
I finally got through and set up an account at Stripe.com ...   however, they ask for so much personal information (more than Paypal, more than my bank) that I think this is just a simple scam.  If I can't just pay for this with a simple online credit card transaction like everything else, then this isn't going to work for me.

After I signed up for Stripe.com, when I click on the "subscribe now" button it says "waiting for q.stripe.com".

Democratic Party embraces nonreligious voters, criticizes 'religious liberty' in new resolution

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) passed a resolution Saturday praising the values of “religiously unaffiliated” Americans as the “largest religious group within the Democratic Party.”
The resolution, which was unanimously passed at the DNC’s summer meeting on Aug. 24 in San Francisco, Calif., was championed by the Secular Coalition of America, an organization that lobbies on behalf of atheists, agnostics, and humanists on public policy. The group celebrated the DNC’s move as the first time a major party “embraced American nonbelievers.”
“Religiously unaffiliated Americans overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party’s values,” said the resolution, which adds they should advocate for “rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values.”
Sarah Levin, director of governmental affairs for the Secular Coalition of America, praised it as a way “to ensure that policy is driven by science and evidence, not sectarian beliefs.”
The move comes as Democratic presidential candidates have ramped up their religious rhetoric on the campaign trail, but the party announced it is targeting “nonreligious voters” to try to beat President Trump, who solidified the evangelical vote in 2016. …

They criticize religious liberty because if they take power, they’ll do their nefarious worst to eradicate those liberties.
These are dangerous people.

universal humanistic values. How does one define that one is not a believer? Of course, what they mean is based on the fumes of Judeo-Christianity.

Perhaps the greatest challenge in 2020 is to demonstrate to the American people just how far Left and alien the Democratic Party has become. Most Americans do not realize just how debased it is and what would happen to the American nation and people if they and their globalist acolytes took rel power.

Sounds exactly like the USSR.
“Atheism is a natural and inseparable part of Marxism, of the theory and practice of scientific socialism.”

— Lenin, “Religion”, Introduction

“The teaching of hatred for the enemies of the toilers enriches the concept of socialist humanism, by distinguishing it from sugary and hypocritical ‘philanthropy’.”

I am a little skeptical of the document that the article links to.
https://secular.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/DNC-Resolution-on-the-Nonreligious-Demographic.pdf
There is only the text of the resolution, no header/footer information, no date or logos, no proposer, seconder or any other details other than “DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE:” across the top.
It might be accurate but it does not look like it is an original document.

Bernie no longer feels the need to pretend he’s not a Democrat.
The Squad only differs from the rest in that they no longer feel the need to hide who they are.
The thing is, the DEMOCRAT VOTER is preconditioned to not care. This has happened over the decades before even Bill Clinton ran, bit by bit they’ve been conditioned to only care about the seriousness of the charges if it’s Republicans being charged.
For everything else it’s like Gore once said: no controlling authority....

Just like Sodom, not one righteous person could be found.I get your point, but there were 4 righteous people that were found.
There was Lot, his wife and two daughters. They were the only people in the entire city who were righteous and God saw to it they left before the city was demolished.
But after departing the city, Lot’s wife looked back in hesitation and regret and she became a pillar of salt.

Trump is making a similar mistake that Bush2 made

Trump is making a similar mistake that Bush2 made

Bush2 made the mistake of solidifying his presidency in a selfish way by not setting up an heir apparent.  Normally in a successful presidency, it's the VP who owns that slot.  That's how we got Bush1, and Dick Nixon.  But Bush2 didn't want his own presidency to be used as a jumping point for someone else's career into the presidency (like his dad did) so he gave the slot to someone too old, too frail, and too controversial to take the pole position.

This became obvious in 2006 when there was no heir apparent, and there was a lot of jostling around in GOP circles wherein the GOPes and RINOs got the uppper hand and gave us McCain and then Romney.  This never would have happened if Bush2 had simply given us an heir apparent for his legacy.  Instead, he just set up a dog-eat-dog Darwinian contest that was harmful for the party.

What he could have done, and what I said he SHOULD have done in 2006 was to ask Cheney to step down and then appoint whomever he saw fit as the heir apparent.  I kept saying that it was the PROCESS that granted name recognition, so anyone who was put into that slot would be IMMEDIATELY recognizable.  Did anyone know who Dan Quayle was before HE was granted the slot?  Or even the potential slot -- did any of y'all know who Sarah Palin was in 2006?  The PROCESS grants name recognition.

So in Bush2's selfishness, he threw the republican party under the bus and as a result we got 8 years of obambam.  Trump is being similarly sefish.  I'm assuming he has the 2020 re-election in the bag.  On January 21, 2021, all eyes will be on the next election.  It used to be something that took place 2 years after elections, but the media is so triggered and so eager to erase Trump that they'll immediately be focusing on the 2024 election.

And who do we have for 2024?  Right now, we have the same situation that Bush2 set up.  No heir apparent.  Of course, the natural inclination is going to be to give the nod to VP Pence.  I love Pence.  He's a right wing, conservative, christian, honorable republican.  But he is a squish.  Trump does not realize just how rare his talent stack is, this talent for turning the press onto itself into a self-immolating, triggered, hot mess of libtardism.  There is basically no one else who has that ability in the upper echelons of GOP politics.

Part of why Trump got where he is was because he's a billionaire.  He has STFU money.  He was able to tell the establishment to buzz off.  That's the second element in Trump's talent stack that no one else has.  It is the element that Sarah Palin did not have, which hamstrung her political career even though she's even BETTER at triggering libtard MSM mediots.

So we end up with a weak GOP bench in 2024.  That is the mistake that Trump is making... right NOW.

How does Trump address this so that America continues on this path of becoming Great Again?  It's a bit much to ask that he give a $Billion or two to his next heir apparent.  Although that might actually be a reasonably good strategy.  As Bunker Hunt once said, when he failed to corner the silver market in the early 1980's, "A billion dollars isn't what it used to be".

But, let's just assume that Trump continues down his well-established path of keeping his own $Billions.  What should we ask of him?  What is the right thing to do so he can avoid the mistake of Bush2?  Already he seems to have made the mistake of Bush1.  This is an ego mistake that most great leaders generate for themselves, because it takes so much energy to get to the point of being an effective leader that considering what happens after you're gone as a leader is a very minor consideration for egotistical leaders.  But for those who uphold the good of something besides themselves, it becomes a PRIMARY consideration.  That's why the king of England said that George Washington was the greatest man alive when he stepped down as president.  It's also why Alexander's empire was scattered among his 4 generals, why Mohammed's posterity continues to fight amongst themselves and why Patton and MacArthur had no future in politics.

Here's what Trump CAN do:  He can ENABLE his heir apparents, whomever they might be.  He can level the playing field for them.

He can level the playing field by telling the FCC to recall the licenses of the big 3 networks and have a bid for those frequencies all over again.  The original setup was that Americans would get free TV signals on well-defined channels in exchange for free UNBIASED news reporting.  The media companies have not kept their side of the bargain, so Trump can revoke his side of the bargain and do his favorite thing of "negotiations".

Trump can do a similar thing with the internet companies that call themselves "platforms" but are behaving like "publishers".  He already set up a commission to look into this.  What he needs to do is act VERY forcefully in the direction of level playing fields for conservatives.  He needs to do this RIGHT NOW even before the 2020 election because all those "platforms" are lining up to deny us conservatives a voice, and by 2024 it will be a fait accompli.

Of course, Trump could take the easy way out and give Sarah Palin a $2Billion Political Action Committee.

Trump criticizes Fox, which 'isn't working for us anymore'

Sorry, the video player failed to load.(Error Code: 101102)
President Trump on Wednesday tweeted that Fox News has become too hospitable to Democrats and "isn't working for us anymore," arguing his supporters "have to start looking for a new News Outlet."
Trump lashed out in a trio of tweets after a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) appeared on "America's Newsroom." The president cited her interview; the employment of former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile; Juan Williams, who is also a columnist for The Hill; and anchor Shepard Smith to claim the network is biased against him.
"Just watched @FoxNews heavily promoting the Democrats through their DNC Communications Director, spewing out whatever she wanted with zero pushback by anchor, @SandraSmithFox. Terrible considering that Fox couldn’t even land a debate, the Dems give them NOTHING!" Trump tweeted.
Trump blasted the network as "HOPELESS & CLUELESS" for hiring Brazile, Williams and Smith, each of whom have criticized the president at various times.
"They should go all the way LEFT and I will still find a way to Win — That’s what I do, Win. Too Bad!" Trump continued. "I don’t want to Win for myself, I only want to Win for the people. The New
@FoxNews is letting millions of GREAT people down! We have to start looking for a new News Outlet. Fox isn’t working for us anymore!"

Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but some of its news personalities quickly pushed back against Trump.
"Fox News isn’t supposed to work for you," Fox senior political analyst Brit Hume replied on Twitter.
The president has favored Fox News over other outlets for much of his presidency, regularly tweeting out quotes from network personalities and sitting for interviews with Sean HannityLaura Ingraham, Harris Faulkner, Chris WallaceMaria Bartiromo and the hosts of "Fox & Friends.
But Trump appears to have soured on the network in recent months, particularly as its polls have shown the president trailing Democratic candidates in prospective 2020 match-ups.
He has tweeted multiple times to bemoan Fox's polling and has targeted Williams and Brazile for criticism.
While some Democrats appear on the network for interviews, the DNC announced earlier this year it would not allow Fox News to host any debates, citing a New Yorker article that detailed extensive ties between the Trump administration and Fox.
Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently joined the network as a contributor.
Trump previously hired former Fox News executive Bill Shine as communications director. Shine replaced Hope Hicks, who departed the White House last year and now works for Fox Corporation.

China and the 2020 Election

China and the 2020 Election

On April 25, 2019, Joe Biden declared his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination. Seven days later, on May 3, 2019, the Chinese sent a diplomatic cable to the Trump Administrationblowing up a 150-page draft agreement that had taken many months to negotiate.  The cable was riddled with reversals by China that undermined core U.S. demands.  In each of the seven chapters of the trade deal, China had deleted its commitments to change laws to resolve core complaints that caused the United States to launch a trade war: theft of intellectual property and trade secrets; forced technology transfers; competition policy; access to financial services; and currency manipulation.
A coincidence or a premeditated scenario?
Joe Biden, in his days in the Senate, was very partial to China, as he voted against revoking China’s most-favored nation status and in 2007 opposed the idea of applying any tariffs on China despite their obvious unfair trade practices.  However, it was as Vice President that he became wholly enamored with the country and its leadership.
For example, while in China, Biden, in August of 2011, defended and approved of China’s one-child policy which brutally used forced abortions to implement the law.  In the same year Biden was given the assignment, by Barack Obama, to be the point man on China due his close personal relationship with Xi Jinping, then Vice-President and heir apparent to the Presidency.  (Xi Jinping is currently President and General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, the most powerful figure in China’s political system).
Due solely to Joe Biden’s influence, in 2011, less than a year after starting Rosemont Seneca Partners, essentially a three-man investment firm with Chris Heinz (stepson of John Kerry), Biden’s son Hunter, who had no previous experience in private equity, was in China to explore business opportunities with Chinese state-owned enterprises.  These meetings occurred just hours before Joe Biden met with the Chinese president in Washington.  Later in the same year, Hunter had a second meeting with many of the same Chinese financial powerhouses -- just two weeks after his father, the Vice President, conducted U.S.-China strategic talks in Washington with Chinese officials.

Meanwhile Joe Biden never missed an opportunity to downplay China’s threat to the United States.  In May of 2013, during a commencement speech he assured those concerned the Chinese were “going to eat our lunch” that they had nothing to be alarmed about as China had immense problems and an inability to think differently.  In May of 2014 Biden described China as a nation incapable of producing innovative products and ideas.  (Two weeks after declaring his 2020 candidacy Biden, in Iowa, said, “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man…they can’t even figure out how to deal with the corruption that exists within the system.  I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks.  But guess what, they’re not competition for us.”   After a massive backlash, he walked back some of those comments a few days later by saying “I don’t suggest China is not a problem.”
In December 2013, Biden flew to Beijing on Air Force Two with his son Hunter on an official trip ostensibly to discuss tensions over disputed territories in the East China Sea.  Joe and Hunter were ushered into a red-carpet meeting with a delegation of various Chinese officials.  Hunter remained with the delegation while his father met with President Xi Jinping.  During these meetings Joe Biden struck an extremely conciliatory and friendly tone with the Chinese leadership -- much to the dismay of America’s allies in the region.
Ten day later, Hunter’s company, Rosemont Seneca, signed an exclusive $1 Billion (later expanded to $1.5 Billion) deal with the state-owned Bank of China, creating an investment fund called Bohai Harvest, with money guaranteed by the Chinese Government.  As Peter Schweizer, who was the first to unveil these conflicts of interest, wrote in his book Secret Empires “the Chinese Government was literally funding a business that it co-owned along with the sons of two of America’s most powerful decision makers”  Rarely has there been a more stark illustration of being “compromised by a foreign power.”
And in 2014, another arm of Hunter’s budding business empire, Rosemont Realty, began negotiating multi-billion dollar deals with Gemini Investments, a Chinese firm with ties to the China Ocean Shipping Company Ltd. which reportedly operates as an extension of the Chinese military and who eventually acquired 75% of Rosemont Realty in order to purchase commercial real estate in the United States.
Anyone who has dealt with the Chinese Government or the myriad of entities controlled by the government can attest: any foreign business transaction with China always has a requisite or implied quid pro quo that oftentimes does not involve monetary considerations.  Once entangled in this web it is nearly impossible to escape.  It would be naïve to believe that the Biden family, particularly Joe, are not embroiled in this labyrinth of expectations and demands.
In the years and months before he decided to throw his hat in the ring, it had to be obvious to Joe Biden and in particular those close to him that his mental acuity is rapidly failing, not to mention that his and Hunter’s questionable business activities in China and the Ukraine would be exposed on a grand scale.  Why then would he willingly take on a grueling 18-month marathon of running for president?  As the timing of Biden’s announcement and Chinese abrupt volte face on the trade agreement implies, one must, therefore, assume he was coerced into declaring his candidacy as a pawn in the chess game the Chinese are playing in order to defeat Donald Trump in 2020.
If Xi Jinping coerced his old friend Joe Biden into running, then he placed his prestige and fate on the line that China would be able to hold out in the ongoing trade war and achieve a favorable outcome in any negotiations with Biden at the helm.  While Xi Jinping is powerful, he still is one of seven members of a standing committee of the Politburo (25 members) that can oust him.   At this point Xi Jinping cannot be perceived as losing face by caving to Donald Trump and reinstituting the agreement made in the spring of 2019.
Therefore, while the threat of further escalation in the trade war will recede there is little chance of anything substantive happening as intransigence will be the rule the day between now and November 2020.  However, China’s growing internal problems and failing economy will dramatically escalate, which could force the Politburo to either remove Xi Jinping, or accept, with clinched teeth and a renewed determination to defeat Donald Trump, the basic terms of the May 2019 trade agreement.
Joe Biden’s everyday performance on the campaign trail reinforces the reality that he will not be the Democratic Party presidential nominee.  Thus, whoever is nominated by the Democratic Party will, by default, be backed by the Chinese -- who will do whatever is legal, illegal or unethical to defeat Donald Trump.  The actions the Russians were falsely accused of in the 2016 election will be child’s play by comparison.
It appears that the Chinese may have made a major blunder in April and May of 2019.  A blunder with potential major ramifications for China and, if Donald Trump is defeated in 2020, the United States.

ISIS fighter killed by drone bomb he was operating after it ran low on battery and flew back

Full Title: JIHADI KARMA ISIS fighter killed by drone bomb he was operating after it ran low on battery and flew back
AN ISIS terrorist blew himself up when the drone bomb he was operating ran low on battery — and flew back.
The idiotic killer was targeting allied forces after the Battle for Mosul in northern Iraq.
He had customised his weapon to carry plastic explosive and planned to detonate it by troops based in the city.
But his plan backfired because he had forgotten to sufficiently charge the device.
Civilian drones — as weaponised by ISIS — automatically 'boomerang' back to their point of launch when they start to run out of power.
They are programmed to return to prevent owners losing their machines.
OPERATION SHADER UK troops — including the SAS — are training Iraqi soldiers as part of Operation Shader and are plagued by drone attacks.
A security source said: “We receive intelligence from locals about enemy activity and tactics.
“We learned this idiot had wired up his drone with explosives but was killed when it’s batteries ran low and it flew home.
“With a weak signal for some reason it detonated over his head.
“This caused quite a laugh for us but the drone threat is very real. The fighter killed himself last year due to his own ineptitude, but is still keeping moral high today.” ISIS has become advanced in its use of drone weapons, which it dubs its ‘air force’.
The battle for Mosul ended officially in 2017 but British troops are still training Iraqis there.
Although the battle for the city was won, the drone threat is ongoing.
DRONE THREAT Customised commercial versions — such as the £1,200 Chinese-made DJI Phantom — are used as flying bombs or to carry munitions to drop.
The source said a common, simple and effective tactic is to push a hand grenade — with pin pulled — in a steel tube attached to the aircraft.
Once over the target the drone is remotely dipped so the grenade slides out of the tube, releasing the trigger mechanism.
Some grenades are adapted with fins attached to help them fly more accurately.
Iraqi security forces then came up with their own response, by attaching shuttlecock feathers to their own grenades, again dropped by drone, to help guide the munitions to the ground.
The source added: “Drone warfare is hugely effective for insurgents.
“They can see where we are operating, choose targets then launch a coordinated attack from up to three miles away.
“They are very hard to shoot down with small arms. The most effective response is to find the operators and kill them on sight.
“The hapless ISIS fighter blew himself up months ago and the hope is his stupidity will put off other insurgents.”

The thing is the vast majority of the time this doesn’t happen and they get to where they’re going.
The article goes on to say that security forces consider it a real problem.
And that shooting them down with small arms is very hard.

The ignorance of firmware flash configuration can work well sometimes. This is a great example of the technological differences between us and them.

Why? It’s never stopped them before.
It seems to be some kind of requirement...
